Mercado Consultants, Inc., was founded in 1989 as an engineering company in the field of bridge design and has grown to a multi-disciplined engineering firm specializing in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Bridge Inspection, Surveying and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).   A mid-sized firm headquartered in Ashton, Maryland and with offices in Columbia, Maryland, Mercado Consultants provides transportation infrastructure services and has provided services in most states along the Mid-Atlantic and west to Texas, but most significantly in the State of Maryland, the District of Columbia and the surrounding metropolitan area.

Our services include bridge design and rehabilitation, structural analysis, NBIS bridge inspection services, roadway design, erosion and sediment control, transportation system infrastructure planning, and utility layout and relocation. We also provide surveying including surface utility surveys, aerial surveying and mapping, and right of way research. We provide construction management services to the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority's Dulles Metrorail Project, as well as to various cities and counties in the greater Washington/Baltimore area.  Our GIS department has collected, analyzed and processed field data of various assets for the District of Columbia, the City of Baltimore, Maryland and the City of Alexandria, Virginia
