Mercado Consultants, Inc. specializes in all aspects of Geographic Information Services, from field data collection service through data analysis and final data processing.  Mercado Consultants, Inc. has successfully provided GIS to the District of Columbia, the City of Baltimore, the City of Alexandria and to the Prince George's County Planning Department of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission (M-NCPPC).  

MCI's GIS department has experience in field data collection through the use of Trimble Geo XT. Working closely with the client, we determine their expectations, the objectives of the project, identify potential problems and establish methodology for design and implantation of the database. We establish relevant existing data, determine its usefulness to the project and identify and assign all appropriate tasks to each member of our staff.

By developing geo-databases we provide optimal functionality needed to complete a job.  With GPS Pathfinder Software, we bring data directly from the field into the geo-database in a seamless workflow.  We also take the existing data back into the field to be updated. During the execution of the project we provide status reports to stakeholders and perform data analysis to evaluate the results to refine and create alternatives.

Mercado Consultants is familiar with Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) standards and specifications.
